Hillsborough County, Florida -- Earl Lennard, Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections, has announced election-related activities from Monday, Sept.r 10, to Monday, Sept. 17.

Resolution may formally oppose Gov. Scott's funding veto

Safety Harbor, Florida -- City leaders are taking action over Governor Rick Scott's veto on funding for the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council.

Safety Harbor's City Commission may adopt a resolution that formally opposes the veto, and would let the Governor's Office know about it.

"The Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council brings together governments to coordinate planning for the community's future and to provide an opportunity for sharing solutions among the 43 jurisdictions in the Tampa Bay region," an excerpt from the resolution reads.

Oldsmar, Florida -- The Upper Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the City of Oldsmar and the Concord Coalition, are hosting a highly interactive, award winning federal budget planning exercise at the Courtyard by Marriott on Wednesday, Aug. 29 from 10 a.m. to noon.

This planning exercise was developed by the Concord Coalition by former Congressmen to provide taxpayers an opportunity to experience the complexities of budget development.  Congressman Gus Bilirakis has conducted several workshops using this exercise.

Hillsborough voter turn-out results as of 4:40 this evening

Hillsborough County, Florida-- The Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Office announced the voter turnout for the 2012 Primary Elections as 12.56 percent as of 4:40 p.m. 

The office says turnout is based on actual ballots cast from voters at 30 precincts.

Election night returns will be posted on www.VoteHillsborough.org after the polls close at 7 p.m.

Supervisor of Elections office: More registered Democrats than Republicans in Hillsborough

Hillsborough County, Florida-- In light of the Primary Election tomorrow, the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Office released some voting statistics and facts.

They say that as of the July 16 deadline, more residents have registered as Democrats than Republicans, with 288,988 registered Democrats, and  237,014 registered Republicans.

Thus far, the office also reports they have received 56,775 ballots for the Primary Election from Vote By Mail and Early Voting ballots.

Hillsborough County, Florida-- The Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections has announced Early Vote totals as of shortly after 6 this evening. They report that 2,341 Early Votes were cast today. 

To date, 17,489 Early Voted have been cast in Hillsborough County. 

Tomorrow is the last day of Early Vote in Hillsborough County.
