Two women steal $3,000 in purses from Tampa mall

Tampa, Florida -- The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says the two women seen on the surveillance video above stole 10 designer purses worth more than $3,000.

Authorities say the women stole the handbags from the Dillard's store at Citrus Park Mall on May 21 around 10 a.m.

MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheater warns underage drinkers

Tampa, Florida-- Despite its multiple name changes, one of Tampa's main concert and event venues has a clear stance on at least one thing- a "zero tolerance" policy for underage drinking on the premises. 

The newly named MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheater- first known as the "Ford Amphitheater" before becoming "1-800-Ask-Gary Amphitheater", and then briefly the "Live Nation Amphitheater"- has joined forces with local law enforcement and the Florida State Fair Authority. Together, they are warning anyone underage that they will strictly enforce drinking laws. 

Suspects caught in Citrus Park shooting of 3 women

Citrus Park, Florida -- Hillsborough County deputies say they've arrested the two men they believe are responsible for a Citrus Park shooting on Sunday that left two women dead and one in the hospital.

Detectives say Jason Burnett, who has several prior arrests in Hillsborough County, was behind the shooting and robbery of victims Fern Giddings, Nell Mason, and Mason's daughter, Christina Soto.

The other suspect, Gary Honish, knew the victims and may have even done drug deals with them in the past, according to deputies.

"Bank Bag Bandit" sentenced to 27 years in prison

Tampa, Florida -- A Palm Harbor man, also known as the "Bank Bag Bandit" who committed five armed bank robberies in three counties, was sentenced Monday to 27 years in federal prison in connection with the crimes.

As part of sentence, the United States Attorney's Office says David Dwindell was ordered to forfeit over $13,700, which is traceable to proceeds of the offense and to pay over $38,000 in restitution which is the amount stolen from the banks.

2 steal over $2,000 in Sean John apparel from Macy's

Carrollwood, Florida -- Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office are looking for two men who stole over $2,300 worth of merchandise from Macy's on March 19.

According to reports, the men entered the Macy's at Citrus Park Town Center around 7:00 p.m. They then walked to the men's section, took three stacks of Sean John merchandise and left the store without paying.

The men fled the scene in a black Smart car.

Detectives see spike in new credit card machine skimmers

Tampa, Florida -- Tampa Police say for several years they've seen skimmers on credit card machines, but recently, detectives have seen a spike in key logging devices on computers on business credit card machines.

Detectives say these logging devices look similar to a flash drive that captures all customer credit card information, and many business owners don't even notice they've been breached as criminals insert the device without them knowing.

Crime down in Hillsborough County

Hillsborough County, Florida -- The Hillsborough County Sheriff's office has released that crime in Hillsborough County is down 53.2% since 2007. 

For the sixth straight year, deputies have reduced overall crime in Hillsborough County. With a population in unincorporated Hillsborough County of more than 800,000 residents, the number of victims of  crimes was also reduced from 21,617 in 2011 to 20,072 in 2012. This violent crime rate is the lowest since recording started in 1985.
