Movie in the Park tonight!

Tampa, Florida -- Grab a blanket, chairs and the kids and head on over to Baybridge Park for 'Movie's in the Park', sponsored by the Westchase Community Association.

Tonight's feature will be Ice Age, starting at 7 p.m.

Commissioners discuss potential change for electing leadership in 2012

Hillsborough County, FL -- Hillsborough County Commissioners held their annual organizational meeting on Nov. 15 choosing colleague Commissioner Ken Hagan, District 5, to serve as Chairman for the fourth time. They also voted to select Commissioner Sandra L. Murman, District 1, as Vice-Chair, and approved Commissioner Lesley “Les” Miller, Jr., District 3, as the new Chaplain.

One official is out another gets a big raise following 10 News Investigators stories

Tampa, Florida -- Two targets of 10 News Investigators' stories have had a day of reckoning with their boards with two different results.

Hillsborough Planning Commission Executive Director Bob Hunter was asking the board to extend his contract one more year, while Tampa Port Director Richard Wainio was asking for a huge raise even though he makes more than $250,000.

And while half the members of the planning commission were willing to extend Hunter's contract one more time, even though his current contract said it could not be extended, a majority would not go along.

Sickles beats Alonso 20-14

On a rainy night in Tampa, a huge neighborhood rivalry went down to the final quarter as the Sickles Gryphons beat Alonso 20-14 in the season finale for both teams.

The first three quarters belonged to the visiting Gryphons.  First quarter, LaDonda Crittendon ran 9 yards for the first points of the game to give Sickles a 6-0 lead. 

Tampa homeless paper on the street today

Tampa, Florida -- A Tampa community newspaper publisher has found a way around the street soliciting ban that took effect in Tampa on November 1st.

While people cannot solicit Monday through Saturday, the city ordinance does not restrict newspapers from selling their papers from the side of the road seven days a week... so, Bill Sharpe published Tampa EPOCH and he's putting the community paper in the hands of the area's homeless to sell for a profit.
